Las Vegas, Nevada (December 11, 2023) — Michael established his professional career when he joined Deloitte directly out of college, serving in the firm’s tax practice focusing on virtually all aspects of tax service. He is the newest addition to our firm, bringing a wealth of experience and a unique journey that has shaped his professional path. His “Big 4” career gave him exposure to tax return compliance, ASC 740 (formerly SFAS 109) analysis, and internal control documentation for industries ranging from technology start-ups to Fortune 500 hospitality companies.
Michael’s career path led to an amazing opportunity at Starwood Hotels & World Resorts, Inc. where he led teams across Southeast Asia and South America. This global exposure not only enriched his professional expertise but also fueled his passion for diverse cultures. Having lived in various parts of the US and South America, Michael seeks to establish roots to be closer to his family. Others describe him as disciplined and approachable, attributes that resonate with his personal service philosophy – ownership.
Michael’s favorite book, “Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win” by Jocko Willink & Leif Babin, reflects his belief in taking ownership of one’s work. His favorite quote, “Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days” by Ben Franklin, resonates with him for its humor and truth.
With Michael on board as Tax Manager, our firm gains not just a seasoned professional, but a resilient and culturally aware individual committed to the principles of HRC, Accountability, Competency and Transparency (ACT).
