Farmington, Connecticut (August 22, 2024) — HarperWhitfield P.C., a certified public accounting firm with offices in Farmington and Weatogue (Simsbury) has named Joshua R. “Josh” Pedersen, CPA, CGMA, MBA of Simsbury and Beth A. Thurz, CPA of Rocky Hill as partners in the firm.

Mr. Pedersen joined HarperWhitfield in 2000 as a staff accountant. He was subsequently promoted to manager, and then to director in 2023. Mr. Pedersen is a member of the Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and he also holds the designation of Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Western New England University, and his Master of Business Administration at Central Connecticut State University.
Ms. Thurz joined HarperWhitfield in 2019 as a director. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA), where she serves on the Trusts & Estates Committee. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Math/Economics at Wesleyan University and her Master of Science in Accounting at the University of Hartford.
