They will jointly serve as Co-CEOs for one year, after which Drew will assume the position of CEO. Mike Gillis will maintain his full-time role as Partner focusing on the firm’s strategic planning, growth initiatives, and client services.
After 26 years of leadership by Mike Gillis, the transition to Drew Haddock as CEO ensures the firm’s dedication to excellence in client service and its commitment to its core values: people, clients, and communities.

Drew Haddock, CPA
Drew is an experienced DMJPS Partner in tax and accounting specializing in tax planning and compliance for privately held businesses, organizations, and corporations in diverse industries such as retail and wholesale, manufacturing, distribution, and real estate industries. He is a graduate of both North Carolina State University, B.S. in Accounting, and East Carolina University, M.S. in Accounting. Based in DMJPS P LLC’s Sanford, North Carolina office, his expertise includes:
- Tax Planning and Compliance: Specializes in tax planning and compliance for corporations, partnerships, and individuals, with significant experience in multi-state tax compliance.
- Advisory: Advises clients on complex transactions like Section 1031 like-kind exchanges, opportunity zone incentives, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Professional Involvement: Active in the professional community currently serving as Treasurer on Sanford Area Growth Alliance’s (SAGA) Board of Directors, the State Employees’ Credit Union Local Advisory Board, and formerly the NCACPA Tax Committee. Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA).
- Leadership: Alumni of Leadership North Carolina, a program designed to develop and engage committed leaders across the state.
Mike Gillis, CPA, PFS, CGMA
Mike Gillis has served over three decades in firm leadership roles including Managing Partner and CEO since 1992. He will continue to fulfill an active role in the firm as a Partner, including operations and client development. Gillis is a frequent presenter on tax matters and also provides invaluable guidance to his clients, privately-held businesses and their owners, by helping them achieve their long-term financial goals through proactive planning. He is a graduate of Thiel College in Pennsylvania, earning a B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration. His extensive experience includes:
- Taxation: Corporate and individual returns, tax planning and research, litigation support on tax matters, and international tax.
- Advisory: Estate and succession planning, specialized industry advisory including R&D tax credits.
- Financial Planning: Recognized as a Personal Financial Specialist by the AICPA, this credential combines extensive tax expertise with comprehensive financial planning knowledge.
- Professional Involvement: Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Tax Division), North Carolina Association of CPAs (NCACPA), and Greensboro Estate Planning Council. Has served multiple terms on the CPAmerica International Board of Directors, including Chairman.
- Leadership: United Way of Greater Greensboro, Board of Directors and Treasurer, as well as a Leadership North Carolina alum.
