Accounting Firm DMJ & Co., PLLC Embraces Title of  “Coolest CPAs”

GREENSBORO, NC- DMJ & Co., PLLC (DMJ), a Top 300 North Carolina accounting and consulting firm really knows how to make a splash! On Saturday, February 24 DMJ participated in the Triad Chill for Special Olympics. The firm took the first leap into the 50 degree waters of Wet n’ Wild Emerald Pointe and was followed by nearly 500 community and individual polar plunge teams. DMJ’s fundraising efforts resulted in $14,000 for Special Olympics and the firm was awarded “Most Money Earned” by a group. With outside temperatures at 75 degrees, the Triad Chill was more balmy than chilly, but the event did raise more than $45,000 for the nearly 40,000 athletes of Special Olympics. Caren Rodriguez, Director of Marketing, and Mike Gillis, Managing Partner, presented Special Olympics with a symbolic check commemorating DMJ’s milestone fundraising total of more than $150,000 since the inaugural Polar Plunge in 2000.

DMJ’s 2018 team of polar plungers included Drew Haddock, CPA, Jason King, CPA, and Ginger Quick, CPA of the DMJ’s Sanford office, and David Mize, CPA, Quinton Simones, and Brian Chandler of the Greensboro Office. George Wigglesworth also joined the team.

The spirit of corporate social responsibility is strong at DMJ who raised the money with causal days for a cause and the support of generous community friends. With a few exceptions, they have been the single longest supporter of the Triad Polar Plunge since it was created in 2000. DMJ & Co., PLLC and DMJ Wealth Advisors, LLC has plunged for 18th consecutive years, consistently leading the way in fundraising contributions.

Director of Marketing, Caren Rodriguez, notes, “Being part of this event is both pride and passion for DMJ. More than 150 individuals, clients, and community members have generously donated to Team DMJ’s fundraising efforts, many of whom graciously share personal stories of how Special Olympics has made a personal impact to their lives. Their support, and the enthusiasm of our firm for the cause, is a credit to our ongoing commitment to Special Olympics."
