Mathieson, Moyski, Austin & Co, LLP is happy to announce the promotions for six of its staff members.

Lisle and Deerfield, Illinois ( September 9, 2024) — Ronak Desai, CPA has been promoted to Senior Tax Accountant. Ronak joined MMA in June 2021 after working in a small accounting firm. Ronak has taken on more complex engagements and is now part of the 990 Tax-exempt team. Ronak is a graduate of the University of Mumbai.

Chris Knapp has been promoted to Senior Tax Accountant. Chris interned with MMA in the Spring of 2021 & 2022 and joined MMA full-time two years ago in June 2022 after graduating from Aurora University. Chris works on the more complex engagements and assists in training new staff.

Jakub Ksiazek, MAS has been promoted to Senior Accountant. Jakub joined MMA in December 2022 as part of the Deerfield office. He had joined BPC in November 2021 after working in industry for several years. Jakub provides client services with monthly financial work, payroll, payroll & corporate tax returns and personal tax returns. Jakub has a Master’s in Accounting from DePaul.

Jackie Scroggs has been promoted from Administrative Assistant to IT Coordinator. Jackie joined MMA in 2018 in the administrative department and her responsibilities quickly grew. Jackie’s passion and knowledge for IT she has become the go-to person in the firm for all IT related duties. She is the firm’s first dedicated IT staff. Jackie is a graduate of Bradley University.

Karen Oetjens has been promoted to CAAS Manager. Karen joined MMA in July 2020. She is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Prior to joining MMA she had 25 years of accounting experience in industry. In her four years with the firm, Karen has worked on more complex clients and is always looking for more challenges. Karen is a graduate of Illinois State University.

Becky Howell, CMA has been promoted to Director of CAAS. Becky joined MMA in September 2016. Prior to joining MMA she had 25 years of accounting experience, primarily in the areas of construction and non-profit associations. She has been a key leader in the development of our CAS practice. As the Director of CAS, Becky will lead in the continued growth of the department. Becky has a Bachelor of Arts from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
